Kindness

This is kindness. My daughter had her first prom thanks to Tim Tebow and Grace Farms church. The Tim Tebow Foundation partners with local churches organize an event called “Night to Shine.” It is an event for people with special needs and is open to anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older.

My daughter and her friends had been talking about this event for weeks beforehand – they were truly excited. Once we arrived there was a red carpet entrance complete with a rapturous welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi (they ask you first, since some of the guests don’t like the noise.) There were hair and makeup stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, dancing– courtesy of the sounds played by DJ Joe.

Every guest had a buddy for the evening – my daughter had a charming high school boy volunteer to accompany her for the evening. The kids could just be kids and have fun in a safe place. A respite room was provided for the parents and caregivers and we were well looked after with good food and a band.

It was a magical evening and my daughter loved it. A huge thank you to Tim Tebow, Grace Farms and DJ Joe for bringing light and normality to our special family.
